I'd vote option 2. They'll most likely give you some spool about Barclay's knowing and it not affecting anything, but it's good to settle the mind. Avoid option 3, don't want to rock the boat. I like to think of the creditors like the seagulls in Finding Nemo, one movement and they're all shouting 'Mine!'.
Love the idea of thinking of creditors in that way..
I think your right on option 2, and I also think your right on what SC will say..Christmas 2020 £109

Quick question for the clever people...
I have not heard anything from Barclaycard at all, they have cashed all my token payments and I can still access my online account. On this account it shows my next payment due by 12 nov and the SC budget amount.. now we all know SC don't pay until the 25th nov.. Not sure what to do or whether to call SC... it is also currently showing no interest added..... don't want to upset the apple cart..
So do I -
1. ignore it
2. Call SC for advice
3. Make an additional payment this month pre 12th so they would then get 2 dmp payments in a month.. but then would they expect this all the time... (we are talking an extra £30..)
dilema..... Any help appreciated...
Love Puzz. xx
Hi Puzz
I ended up in a similar situation with Barclays, they kept repeatedly telling me the payment was late (due date 19th) when the SC payment is on 25th. I ignored it for a while, then grew some b---! and called them. They weren't the nicest but they did agree to move the payment date to 26th so that I wasn't always going to be late. They seem not to call me now, and I haven't had the late payment alert since it changed.
Hope this helpsDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Well this is a turn up for the books...just got off the phone from a complaints customer service advisor with regards to my earlier post of charges on my two Lloyds bank accounts. She was very helpful and friendly. My accounts are going to be passed to their recovery department, defaulted and all fees and interest frozen, indefinitely. And because I had to complain, she's sending me a £50 cheque! Woo! She said the offer of my accounts being sent to recovery should have been made well before now as there is no way the balance would be cleared in 6 months, which is what they expect if it goes to collections.
I don't usually speak with people on the phone, but as this was potentially going to go in my favour and wasn't really discussing the debt, I thought it would be best.
So, anyone fighting Lloyds, go for it! It only took me one letter of complaint and it's been sorted within 30 minutes!First DMP payment 10/06/13

Great result Foolish! Just goes to show that we can win against creditors sometimes.
Well had the third and last bill for car repairs & MOT and it all added up to £717. So spoke to SC and reduced the payment going out this month. Most annoyingly had OH's work paid the overtime he was due this month I might not have had to reduce the payment by so much. This happens every time, whether it is overtime, expenses, prepaid expenses, and it is not as though the company he works for is tinpot organisation, they employ a lot of people. Two weeks ago OH had to go to London for two nights and was given a prepaid credit card to pay the bill. It didn't work so he had to pay the £120 bill and work said they would rush a payment through for him. We are still waiting. I have told him to put in an official complaint. Enough is enough!DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Evening all
Haven't posted for a while but have been reading about everyone's progress. Welcome to the newbies who have been brave enough to take the first step to dealing with their debt.
I've just had my first annual review with StepChange and I'm pleased to say it was absolutely painless. The advisor was really nice and made sure I was happy with my budget before I upped my monthly payment by a small amount. There was no pressure whatsoever to make me any worse off, even though I have had a very small pay rise.
Of my nine creditors only two are still charging reduced interest, so I'm not suffering too much. I may still have another attempt at getting them to freeze it though.
To all of those just starting out, I want to say that it really does get easier with every passing month. Keep at it and we will get through it together!

Hello all
I've also been lurking for a while, hubby & I have actually made it through the first year of our DMP with SC , also just done our review & increased our payment by the princely sum of £6, it may be small but it's a step in the right direction! DMP has been fantastic for us & the only regret is not doing it years earlier, we could have got it sorted much more quickly but I can actually sleep at night now and that is priceless. To all of you getting started I would say go for it, ask for help although it's probably not something you are used to doing, you aren't alone and there is a light at the end of the tunnel albeit in our case still a ways away.Started DMP Oct 2012 debtfree date 1st March 2020

Good news enough now. When I spoke to SC they told me that they are bringing in an online version of the annual review so you don't even have to phone them. Although of course the very nice lady told me that if I would like to complete my review by telephone then that was still availableDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Morning all,
Been lurking a bit this week. Nice to see the newbies are getting on ok and the slightly longer DMP'ers have been ok on their reviews.
I'll be due for a review early next year, so hopefully the on line version will be running as I still get upset on the phonemainly cos the SC people are so nice.

Hello All
Well done to those that have had success this week in getting creditors to play nicely, for those that have completed their reviews and for any first payment newbies.
Sorry to hear the car was another expense GUO but glad you got this months payment to SC sorted.
I hope you got the charges sorted out with BC Puzzcat. I never had a problem with them and when I realised my payment from SC was going out after the payment date I gave them a quick ring and they moved the payment date for me with no problems.
I know everyone says not to phone but I always rang all my creditors and then followed it up with a letter if needed as to be honest in most cases it was so much easier to deal with them on the phone. Maybe I was just really lucky as you hear of the horror stories but every one I spoke to was sympathetic (even the one I snapped at) and quite often resolved any issues quicker than had I ignored them and insisted it being dealt with in writing.
Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.0
