We went to FOS when Lloyds reinstated charges and interest on a credit card account.

Unfortunately the FOS sided with Lloyds even though they had not carried out any reviews on our circumstances.

It might be worth a try cos every case is different but Lloyds have been a nightmare from day one.

I'm not usually a tit for tat person but even if I didn't win I'd have to put up the good fight just to show them I wasn't going to take it lying down

Much as I applaud Payplan for the help they have given me with my DMP, they are now starting to annoy me ?.

    How you my ask ?

Twice they have rung me asking if they want to claim back PPI on my behalf - after the first call I told them not to ring me again - result ?

I got another phonecall asking the same thing, so again I told them I wasnt interested.

I hope they take the hint or I may have to formally complain.

Another Aldi fan here. We are lucky enough to have an Aldi and Lidl which are very close to each other. Will be visiting both later today.

Mushy pea's at 17p and biscuit selections at 99p..... My two favourite Aldi products. Or the small chickens at £2.99, these seem to be the same size as Asda regular, add lemon and a bit of garlic and you have enough for two people for two nights if you pad it out with spuds, salad etc.

    Mushy pea's - can't you tell I am a Northerner!!!:rotfl:

Good for you ! My first payment is due out in May and already I am feeling more confident that we will be able to manage. I have to say that Stepchange have been so efficient so far and really it was a godsend finding this thread and all the helpful people.

I second this, don't think you are taking the p*** by posting out £1 token amounts, I wanted to pay more as I could have afforded it at the time but another poster advised me not to and put the rest into an emergency account. Glad I did as they never acknowledged the payment. £1 is quite enough and shows you are still in contact.

I am now currently two years into my DMP with Payplan, not too mahy problems and everything seems to be progressing well.
I have one unenforceable agreement for an old Egg account now held by Barclaycard, which I am charged a small amount of interest on. Another Barclaycard account where I am charged 6.9%. Moorgate hold an Egg loan and charge me 8%. The others have all frozen interest.

I am now seriously considering going solo and seek others experiences in going from managed to self managed. What I&E tool did you use i.e NEDCAB, MyMoneySteps etc?
How did the transition go and what was the creditors reaction to self managed?

I have my annual review coming up and my payment amount to size of debt with Barclaycard is likely to hit a further trigger. The next trigger will be to move me to 12% interest and feel there will be little interest from Payplan in challenging this.

Hi all, bit of advice needed, NEXT have started charging interest and fees again only 2 months into dmp, recieved statement and no payment from sc showing, so i rang them they havent recieved any payments for march! They advised me to ring SC and find out where payment is, tried phoning many times last week, on hold for up to 15 mins a a time. So i rmailed SC on monday last week and still no reply! Next say if payment not recieved then they will go back to interest charges and not accept the plan, they advised that i pay them the amount i owe personally again, what should i do!

We moved from StepChange to self managed last November, which was the 10th month of our DMP.

I asked for a review just before we went solo to give us some breathing space with the creditors. All of our paperwork since has been prepared via NED CAB website, which I can't recommend highly enough, it is brilliant. We also set up a MyMoneySteps account for comparison and the figures were practically identical, we just liked the feel of the CAB site more.

None of our creditors seem in the least bit bothered by the change. It appears if they get roughly the same amount of money on or around the same date they don't care.

The obvious advantage is you can adjust your figures to keep below minimum payment or other trigger figures for interest increases. We have also used a couple of months of token payment to play hardball with creditors who won't play nice.

I must thank Alice in Welfareland who gave me tons of advice and support when I really couldn't decide if I was brave enough to do it. My twin HH has also recently gone self managed and we encourage each other on a daily basis :T

I think it is the same one. I haven't seen them advertise on the TV before. Must cost a lot.
