Not much economic or cost effective sense with all this when you look at the full expense and picture of homelessness and re-housing.

The politicians do not care they just had a big pay increase unlike 90% of us. The pay of politicians should be linked to average pay, so if the average pay increases then they can get a pay increase. If average pay falls then their pay should fall.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
