Hi
This is what the Taxpayers Alliance (TPA) seem to be saying on benefits!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23954877
Bold sound bite statements that may appeal to some, but made by an 'agency' that in my opinion have little or no knowledge of the big picture or implications and that it would probably cost the tax payer more in the end.
But it sounds good I suppose, just like the bedroom tax 'did'
Just my opinions as always0 -

"How many more times are we going to be subjected to this tired old ideas of demonizing the unemployed. I would imagine that if the jobs were out there the vast majority of those signing on would jump at the chance.
Turning them into slaves is not the answer."
Thanks as always Depth Charge for the link0 -

I agree with Mr. Dorken. Most people I meet and I meet quite a few because it is part of my job would jump at the chance of work.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi
No problem
I have just read through the article again.
Big tough talk, macho sound bites, but in the real world.... utter none workable rubbish that has the potential to cause untold misery and a financial mess for others to have deal with.

Hi
Latest BBC article and todays news story on TV
Watching the nodding either side of IDS in Parliament today was excruciating viewing
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23963867
Are the doubts setting in? it looks like it yer know!
Out of touch and an almighty expensive, misery making mess in the making.
They are going to have to pull this or rethink the situation
Get ready for the excuse making set asides, then the well it was nothing to with me, it was all his 'baby'

Latest press release from Citizens Advice, some stark stats in there and UC basically hasn't even started yet!

Gillian hits all the right notes again for me.

I'm thinking of trying this with the government (although I'm sure they'd ignore it )0

Hi
Nice one
You just get the feeling that all this is slowly sinking in the quagmire and everyone can see it apart from those that don't seem to want too.
There is still time of course, but dear me, the way things are going the implications could be catastrophic if they don't get this right.
Meanwhile the toll on communities, families, people affected is rising that's the problem and sometimes the damage can be tragic and irreversible.
My take again0 -
Just seen this.

Hi
Interesting read
Bang! goes the misguided belief in some quarters that welfare reform is just for people not working and on benefits.
In snooker terms I think the people peddling this are 'thinking' in terms of a 'few 'pots' ahead with 'this out of touch' notion, trouble is the table lights might have gone out long before they have chance to cue up to shoot and no money left to put in the slot!
