HippoBag & Parking Permit in London

Hello,
I have to restore 2 bathrooms in my house, which will require the old BR suites to be taken out and disposed of.
I checked with my council (London Islington) and they charge £65 per day for a skip permit...
Needless to say I don't want to pay £500 in skip permit fees....
I have read that Hippobags are a cheaper alternative. So I was wondering whether I could leave a bag on the street without paying parking permit.
A house down the street has 4 bags out front - but the current workers cannot tell me whether the owner is paying for permit
Thanks for your reponses

Can't the hippo bag fit in the front garden - that's what I do? I would have thought you'd need a licence if it's on the street as it will cause an obstruction. I'd suggest contacting the council though as only they will have the answer and difference councils have different rules
The other option might be to get it collected - so a van waits while you bring the baths, sinks etc down to it....0 -
Have you thought about a waste clearance firm? I have used them. A couple of guys turn up in a large transit pick up, load everything up and take it to the skip. Often works out cheaper than a skip, no permits to pay and all done pretty quickly.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
