Just had our usual book club delivered and there is the most fantastic book in there called Grow Your Own Veg, and it is only 4.99 and 1.75 delivery!!! (sure there must be free delivery codes somewhere on the net).

It is great for beginners as it explains "how to" from sewing seeds to harvesting.

It is so great and cheap I just had to spread the word!!

I bought this too from the Book People through work. It only cost £4.99 and was recommended to buy it from people off here. Definitely worth the money.

Save the money and just ask for help from the lovely people on the Grow Your Own forum..

    http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/

    or the Kitchen Garden forum..

    http://www.kitchengarden.co.uk/

Help and advice from real people is always better than from a book and you may find someone close to you has an excess of seedlings they are only too happy to pass along to get you started.

There has never been better weather to get started.

mjr600, I totally agree it is money saving to ask on here. But not everyone has permanent access to the internet. (me for example)

The book is a suggestion for those who are starting out growing veg (like me) and it very simply explains when to sew seed, when to transfer outside, when to harvest, what to do if they not looking healthy etc.

So when I am in my garden at the weekends, I can simply read my book when tending to my vegetables rather than drive to the nearest internet cafe and pay to use it.
