ITunes on removeable hard drive

Is it possible to load ITunes onto my removeable hard drive and build u pmy music collection on there? I've bought a 30Gb Ipod Video but my laptop hard drive is only 20Gb total (and probably 6Gb or more are programs), so I use an external HD for storing everything.
Would I load Itunes itself onto my laptop, then set the destination for storing/syncing music to the external HD (say, 'F Drive') or load Itunes onto my external drive and keep all music and files with it there?
Hope that made sense
Many thanks in advance

Yes, You can load it up on the Ext hardrive and add the folder to your library.
Obviously the External hardrive needs to be running whenever you need to access your tunes. I would also make sure you close itunes before switching off the external hardrive on its own as you dont want to corrupt any data if you were accessing it from the Ext drive.
and itunes would be loaded on your laptop.0 -
Thanks, so I'll load iTunes in my laptop and I guess I can set the destination for my Itunes library as F:/blah blah etc and each time I load new music on, ensure my external drive is running0

Thanks again, I've assigned artwork to a couple of albums but when you view the list of tracks the album list is actually broken down as 3 albums, all the same name and artwork, just album 1 has track 1, album 2 has tracks 2 to 11 and album 3 has tracks 12 to 14
Any ideas?
Many thansk in advance0
