Ikea Saturday

Has anyone else noticed that Ikea is almost like a real time dating oportunity. I mean you have all these young single attractive people starting out on their independent lifestyle

I love Ikea, but the idea of visiting it at any time over a weekend would be my idea of hell.
  • I agree weekends are a night [mare. I bought an oven today from the clearance section but have changed my mind about it. Gonna change it but will wait till Monday as even a refund today at 2pn had a waiting time of 20 mins. It was trendy a few years ago but the style and quality of furniture has reached rock bottom. I suppose it was was fun and new back in the day.

You have no patience. My husband and daughter waited 30 minutes last night to return two items. Whilst waiting they treated themselves to a hot dog and chips.

DD (20) wandered around but I think she is t0o focussed on the room set ups as she is off to uni in the autumn. She is also obsessed by this

On a recent visit with my DS2 (18) and said DD, I was shocked to see them throwing cushions at each other in one of the staged apartments. This as smaller children were walking nicely around with their parents. Oh the shame:eek:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

No because they always have their dads with them ready to put the stuff together when they get home.

Daddy or sugar daddy, you never can be sure these days. Then again why would you shop in Ikea if you had a sugar daddy :D The quality of furniture and goods from there isn't as good as it once was.

Wouldn't go near the place at a weekend. The car park is a nightmare at my local one.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Mine's full of couples - the woman always seems to be pregnant and stroking her bump whilst staring at plastic tat in the children's section.

If you find someone single in Ikea I can guarantee he or she will be a student. Unless you're also a student, who wants to date one? :D

I avoid my Ikea like the plague on the weekend, and I can't say I've noticed singles or groups of singles in there either - mostly families with trollies, or couples.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am a member of a church - we have an Ikea in our city. We have a 50+ group of students who attend our church.

One of the students favourite games is playing Hide and Seek in Ikea on a Sunday afternoon.

I apologise if you open a wardrobe and find a slightly smelly student smiling back at you.
