Barclays PPI claims line

Has anyone else had problems trying to register a complaint on the published Barclays telephone number 0844 811 91111? My experience 8.2.13 suggests that they are not geared up to take complaints as promised. The published number was answered by someone who clearly did not get a grip on the reason for my call. Two further calls to different numbers ( I thought I had called the wrong number) and a v good Barclays person this time indicated there were problems on 0844 811 91111 but that it was the right number for registering a complaint. The resulting conversation with a new customer service person led me to the conclusion it was better to write!:(

The best thing to get ahead of the game is to download their claims form from the Barclays website and send that with an accompanying letter. Dont expect a quick reply, we started our claim 3 weeks ago and only got an initial holding letter yesterday. They are supposed to respond within 5 days and conclude their investigation within 8 weeks. Speaking to them on the phone is not helpful, because they arent helpful . Good luck
