v. confused with gas and electric cost!

Hello!

I hope someone can help before my head explodes!!

while I am waiting for BG to get into gear and send me a bill I thought I would find out roughly how much its going to cost. I reported BG to energywatch in march and they asked me to provide the readings which were 1455 for electric and 802 for gas.
after looking at BG's website it states that their gas is charged just under 4p per kw and their electric at 15.615p for the first 225kw and 8.826p there after so am I right in thinking that the bill will be

£32.08 approx gas
£143.56 electicity

even writing this I am doubting it but would love for someone to point me in the right direction if they can!!!!

the reason I am doubting it is because we moved in in August '06 and the meter wasn't at 0 as the builders had needed to use it to make sure it was all working...

The electricity calculation is simple maths however your gas meter does not measure in kWh. First you need to convert the units, either cubic metres or hundreds of cubic feet into kWh see here. If it's a new build, I would assume a metric meter, so a quick calculation comes out at approx £365.
