Kindle for XP does not run.

Hi
I have tried installing the Kindle program twice now (Vers: 1.10.0.40682 / 1.10.5.40382)

The first time did nothing when I tried to install.

I have tried again with another download and it appears to have installed okay as I have the desktop icon but when I try running it nothing happens.

Anyone experienced the same problems and know how to resolve?

Have you looked in the Kindle forum?

Searching for "pc xp" returned, among other things, the following:

I don't do updates in Windows XP so I didn't have the latest root certificates...

Ergo, you could try this:

1. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components
3. Check the box - Update Root Certificates.

Alternatively, check Windows Update or the Microsoft Download Center.
