Massive Gas / electricity bill insulation query

:mad:My first duel fuel bill has landed for my new home - ive been paying £89 / month since i moved in as this was the best deal on a comparrison site - now that they have their hooks in they want £190 / month + an additional £650 Underpayment.The electricity ammount is low the bulk is for gas which we only use to heat radiators - we out a work all day and were away for the xmas break......i loose a lot of hear through the floor into a void below - is there any insulation i can use under the carpet?

But heat rises....better to insulate your loft and cavity wals first.
Obviously if you have draughts coming up from the void, then you need to deal with that as well.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If its a suspended wooden floor you will be loosing anything from 25-35% through the floor +&- Whatever the carpet etc is doing. Insulate this asap + loft.
You need to insulate under the floorboards not the carpet.0 -
Have you checked the accuracy of the meter readings? Did you provide them to the energy company, or did they read them. Either way check them first.
How long have you been living there? Take a look at your EPC, it should detail features of your home/heating system that could be improved.
