Removing Cavity Wall insulation

Does anyone have an idea of the costs involved in getting cavity wall insulation removed?
the fil a few years ago decided to get his house done when some la housing nearby was getting done - unfortunately I think it was a cash in hand deal so no paperwork to fall back on.
They have put the insulation into a timer framed extension on the house!!! But he's now looking to sell and I know that no one will lend on cwi like this - if only they had all sat down and thought about it!
Luckily it was all before my time and I couldn't advise against it...

Would anyone actually check the insulation? Why would they refuse a mortgage?

Also, is it causing any problems?

I'm 100% sure that a surveyor will be able to see that cavity wall insulation has been installed and mortgage companies are sensible enough not to lend money on a timber framed building were cavity wall insulation has been incorrectly installed - whilst there isn't anything showing at the moment, eventually the timber frame will rot, the whole point of having a cavity in timber frame construction is to let moisture escape rather than be absorbed by the kit.

Just looking through cavity wall posts for advice really, when I came across yours, I can recommend a very good insulation removal company which I have recently used.
Please reply to this post if interested. I know how stressful this situation can be!
