I've also had goggles from the site Jen mentioned.
I've had strange looks walking to and from the pool with goggles in place but at least I can see.
I have a few allergies and one of my main symptoms is swollen eyes but I have never had a problem with these goggles, they do leave a mark for a while but most goggles do and they fade quickly.

I wear glasses but never do for swimming and never have done. Maybe goggles are more popular now but when I was a kid I would have hated having to wear them. How does she feel about the googles? If she's not fussed I think it's better as sometimes you just have to get used to the fact you can't see so if my glasses fell off whilst cycling I wouldn't panic as I am used to that level of vision.

I'd only ever recommend a service I've used myself - I checked my nieces prescription in them before she got to wear them and it was spot on.

I would never usually recommend buying prescription items online but it is so hard to get specialist optical products these days - even when you work in the industry.

Pee she usually wears non prescription goggles (and has never had a problem with them). Lots of the other children in her swimming class wear them. Her actual prescription is +5 and +6 so fairly strong and we just feel it would be nice for her to be able see when in the pool. I wear glasses, although not as strong and I hate not being able to see when in the pool.

She is fabulous with her glasses and only takes them off to swim/bathe/shower. Other than that they go on before she climbs out of bed and off once in bed!

I was looking at this site the other day and it puts her prescription into context for me, as it shows what they are actually seeing. http://www.billauer.co.il/simulator.html
We still don't know if she is seeing in 3D (as she has never been able to get the test right at the hospital).

I like the simulator! (mine is 2.75 in one eye, 5 in the other so whilst in one sense it is similar it isn't really because obviously I use the better eye in such situations. In the dark though I swear I see better whith my bad eye!) If they all wear them, then it makes sense for her to have some prescription ones.
