Lost returns of a dress

I brought a dress from Phase Eight for a friend as she is going to be an usherette at our wedding. The dress was in the sale (still §100 though) and had it delivered but unfortunately it didn't fit so the friend returned it in the stated time.
I have still not received a refund, when I phoned Phase Eight they said they had not received the dress back. Unfortunately my friend has now lost the proof of postage to prove it was sent. I am confident my friend has returned the dress at it was no use to her.
Is there anything I can do...?
