    I've no idea why they had the car for a week. That job would have taken all of 10 minutes for the apprentice to rub down with 40 grit, thumb on some putty and blast with a rattle can.
    Get it back and complain to VW. They have clearly taken no care on the job so I'd give it a month for the rust to come straight back through.

    It's not the paint finish that is bad, it's the preparation done prior to spraying that is poor.

    Job is not good especially as a warranty job. If you paid a guy and told him to repair it as cheaply as possible it might just about be OK.

    Thanks all. I spoke with VW customer Services who said if I don't get anywhere with the Dealer they will send out an Investigator to review the repair.

    Haven't been able to get hold of the warranty manager at the Dealer yet, but will keep the thread updated.

    Actually, it's about what I could do..... possibly worse and I'm just a average joe when it comes to that!

    If I paid someone (or it was under warranty) I'd expect it done better than I could do at home.....
