Windows 8 phone/Nissan Connect issue

I have an HTC Windows 8 phone and can't get it to connect with our company Nissan Micra via Nissan Connect, the phone picks up Nissan Connect on the screen, just refuses to connect to it, anyone shed any light on this, or know a way round this, I'm looking at buying a Qashqai and Bluetooth connectivity is a must. The phone has no problem connecting to my 3 year old Motorola bluetooth device that clips on the sun-visor.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
