Looking for Penpals in Forces

Where better to ask the question than on the Forces thread,
I just wondered if there was a link (did find one on Dear Dedrie - The Sun), i
I've looked at few sites through Google and most are dating sites, not that isn't something in the future, but I figured that theres all ages out on Service, and I would guess that the younger ones will get family letters, at my age (41), I was thinking more of the older service personnal who may be divorced, seperated etc and would appricate a hi.
If anyone has any suggestions, please fire away
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read the post x

Mum2One,
I think the days of writing letters have gone, unless your stuck out in a FOB with no internet access.
You could try this website, register & enter the chat-room/post a message asking for a PenPal.
https://www.ebluey.com/cfusion/app/bfpo/load_login.cfm
I dont really know of anywhere else, as the PenPal sections of the papers have been removed.

You need a penpal from the Senior Service mum.
Army and RAF have not got off the wax crayon stage yet.0 -

my comment may be useful but not forces related.......i have been looking for a penpal. loe writing letters and as the previous poster said, no one writes letters any more. BUT, in the magazine for the 'older' prson called YOURS, there is a page of people looking for penpals. ive answered several and waiting for replies. all letters answered they said, so fingers crossed. not looking for anything else other than apenpal relationship, but there are others there hoping that it may turn to something.
someone has just said to me that you can write a letter addressed to A Soldier, Camp Bastion or wherever, and it will go to a soldier, hopefully one who doesnt get many letters. may be worth a try.0 -

Not true, the free postal service to troops on ops is for friends and family only so any letters/blueys must be addressed to a named individual.0 -
There are a few parcel sending groups on facebook, perhaps one of these groups might cater just for penpals?"I live my dream today, I lived it yesterday and I'll be living yours tomorrow":smileyhea
If you don't want to work, you have to work to earn enough money so that you won't have to work0
