Does anyone have any recommendations for a polarizing filter?
It would need to fit a Sony A55 camera.

Google would be easier but here's a starter.... http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/thread/29168800

Hoya are a reasonable brand. Just get a circular polarising one of the correct size for your lens. The size will be marked on the front of the lens. The camera doesn't matter.0

Have you got the kit lens? The 18-55 which came with the camera? A quick google says that takes 55mm filters.
I'm also a happy hoya user.0 -
Here's a round up of polarising filters

I have a Hoya Pro-1 and Marumi DHG Super circular filters (items 4 & 1 on the list). Both are fine and I can't see the difference between them. Be wary of some of the cheaper filters, as they can introduce a colour cast into your photograph.
If you have or are planning to get more lenses, you might want to consider buying a filter size larger than you currently need, and buying some step up rings. This will avoid having to buy multiple filters in the future.0
