Bought something - need a refund, company not responding - help!

Hope this is in the right place... would really like some help please. Not sure what my next step should be.
I bought some things from an online store in Sept 2012. 5/7 of them were dispatched. Fine. The other 2 items they said were on back order from their supplier. Fine - I said I was happy to wait. I waited. They didn't arrive. I nudged them, they said they were still on order. OK - I waited. Then I asked again, they said that they had had illness in the family, and were not on top of business, so would refund me. Fine - I waited. No refund. I asked again. Waited. No refund... they are not answering their phones. I have emailed several times. I paid via PayPal, so I sent them a PayPal request for funds as I was outside of the 45 day claims period through PayPal. No response...
So - where do I take it now? It's only £35, but it is £35 I am owed (or the goods, I don't mind!).
Would really appreciate any suggestions...

You need to write a real letter.
Tell them what you want to happen... a refund.
Tell them when this must happen... within 14 days.
Tell them what will happen if they don't do that... you will start legal action to recover your money.
Head your letter letter before action and send it recorded delivery.
More information, including a sample letter, here...
Have a read of Money Claim Online while you are waiting for a response.0 -

Stop being so soft..... For all you know this is just a ploy to spin things out till you get fed up and give up.
Are they still trading?
Its a buissness. if they have problems then that is their problem. It only takes a few seconds to refund a payment via paypal....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Wealdroam - thank you, that's my job for tonight once the kids have gone to bed!
Dalesrider - I know, I know! I don't think they are still trading - website has a holding page, Facebook page down.0 -

I hope you manage to get your money back.
Are they a ltd company (most likely) or sole trader (if they are very small)? If they are ltd and they are insolvent I believe it's going to be more difficult to get your money back.
Some posters have access to full info about ltd co's, you may want to disclose the name here now that they are not even trading any longer.0 -
They are called Little One Lane, sell cloth nappies etc.0
