Claiming refund from LoveFilm

Hi all,

I recently signed up for the 30 day LoveFilm trial, then cancelled within the 30 days. Unfortunately there seemed to be a delay in getting the DVDs back and I was charged for the next month.

After calling up the helpline (start of January) they apologised and said they would reimburse me. A week or so later I hadn't received the refund, so I called them up again and they apologised and said the refund was now sent.

...this process has gone on 4 times now, for well over a month. The last time I called the employee said it was a 'technical error'. The refund would definitely go through but if I had any problems to email instead of call.

I'm just wondering what advice people would have on the next steps I should take. It seems to be very suspicious behaviour from LoveFilm, and I'm wondering whether they should be reported or whether I can do anything to get to the bottom of these multiple 'failed refunds'.

Thanks

You don't tell us the reason for the delay in them receiving the discs back.
Could it be because you didn't sent them back in time?

Anyway, as you know, from their T&Cs...
    12. At the end of your free trial, you will automatically become a paying member unless you cancel your subscription and return all of the LOVEFiLM discs in your possession BEFORE the end of your free trial.

As the monthly subscription is only £4.99, please don't spend too much time on this.
  • Thanks for the reply wealdroam,

I did send the DVDs back with 5 days to spare and they agreed that this was fine. The strange thing is that they agreed to refund me (the £13, not only £5), just didn't do this.

Anyway, I have just checked my account today and noticed that they have finally refunded me, it just took 4 phone calls and 1 month!

A word of warning for any future customers
