Downloading videos of youtube etc

I have realplayer installed and I have always used this to download videos but I find it doesn't seem to work with google chrome. As I'm using chrome more these days this is a real pain as I have to keep going back to Explorer each time I find a video I want to download.

1. Click Install
2. Go to chrome://extensions
3. Drag the .js file you just downloaded onto the page.

I use a program called internet downloader manager

But its not free there is a free trial

This is free and works well:

You supply the link to the YouTube video and it downloads it for you and can save the video in various formats webm, mp4, 3gp , so it's not dependent on a specific browser.

Get Tampermonkey which makes it easy to do. It's similar to Greasemonkey for Firefox.

For one script? I like to keep my browser lean and mean.

I'm a Firefox convert and use the free Video DownloadHelper which works really well.
