I have realplayer installed and I have always used this to download videos but I find it doesn't seem to work with google chrome. As I'm using chrome more these days this is a real pain as I have to keep going back to Explorer each time I find a video I want to download.

I use a program called internet downloader manager
http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/
But its not free there is a free trial0 -
This is free and works well:
http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
You supply the link to the YouTube video and it downloads it for you and can save the video in various formats webm, mp4, 3gp , so it's not dependent on a specific browser.0 -
Thanks everyone that's really helpful0

For one script? I like to keep my browser lean and mean.0 -
I'm a Firefox convert and use the free Video DownloadHelper which works really well.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0
