"Tagged" ? what is this?

I have just received an emial saying that a friend of mine(who I know) from Spain has "Tagged" me as her friend, and do I want to be tagged as her friend. It seems to have come from an American source. It asks me to say Yes or No, and if I dont respond, my friend will think I dont want to be tagged.
Does anyone know what this is? and is it ok? if it is ok, what are the benefits or point of being "tagged".

It's just another social networking site a long the lines of MySpace, Bebo or Facebook (although not as popular). Have a look at their website if you want to find out more.

The answer is an emphatic NO. So, don't choose YES or NO, just delete the email. Your friend has almost certainly NOT nominated you.
Chances are that it has just spammed all the contacts in her Hotmail account.
