Carrington Carr!!

Hi, would really appreciate some help here. My mum and dad have recently discovered that they were charged £3,679 for D and D homecare, arranged by Carrington Carr! Something they knew nothing about until they had a call asking them if they wanted to take out a new policy as their old one was going to expire. I would really like to try and claim this back for them as they were shocked to find they had been paying this in the first place, plus they were and still are self employed.

I can write my own complaints letter but I have no idea who to send it to, Carrington Carr, D and D homecare or Legal and General ( as carrington carr worked along side them, I think )

Please help

Many thanks.

plus they were and still are self employed.

    Does that make any difference?

Carington Carr have the liability for the sale of any policies they make.

However, what was the date of the sale? This is important as liability changed in 2004. L&G only took on liability for sales of L&G products and the mortgage advice that was given after that date and not before.

  • Hi, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

I have just check my parents policy start date and it was October 2004. Also for some reason I thought that the policy didn't cover self employed? But how would I know this for sure? :-(

Game over. The FSCS will only look at cases sold after January 2005. L&G only took on liability for cases sold with them after that date.

    Ask D&D.
