Taking a new job on notice of redundancy

Hi there.
I need some advice about my situation.
I am currently on notice of redundancy, which started 31st December 2012 with 3 months notice, with a last day being 31st March.
I had 18 days of leave remaining, making my last day in the office 4th March. I will then be on leave for the remainder of my notice period.
I have now found another job and the new company want me to start ASAP.
What is the legal position regarding me starting with the new company on 5th March, when I'm essentially on leave from the current job?
Will this effect my redundancy payment etc.?
Thanks for any advice
Regards
Mark

Look up counternotice.
You are still employed even when on holiday so need to be carefull.
You could risk your redundancy payment.0 -
Great, thanks for that.
I understand the Counter Notice law, so it looks like I'll be able to ask to leave at the end of February. I'm just not sure what happens to my leave as if this was 'counted back' from end of Feb, I'm on leave now!0 -
You're in a great position - well done.0

You lose notice pay by leaving early but they still need to pay acrued unused holiday.0
