Question about mis sold packaged account

Hi
I am pretty sure I was missold a natwest advantage gold account around about 2005. The main selling point I was given was that I would get a preferential mortgage rate and as I was saving up for a house at the time it seemed like a good idea. Two years later when I applied for a mortgage I was told that I was not eligible for the preferential mortgage rate so I cancelled the advantage gold account.
I am therefore going to put a claim in for the fees incurred.
However I am struggling finding the paperwork as it was from a few years ago.
Firstly how can I find out the exact dates from which I had the account. Will my bank provide these details if I request them?
Secondly, how can I find out what extras were included with the Advantage Gold account back in 2005. I could look on the Natwest website, but i'm assuming they will have changed slightly from 2005.
Thanks

You would need to prove that you were told it would help you get better rates. You would then need to prove that absolutely nothing in the following two years might have had any impact on your credit rating, and that the terms of the account didn't change at any point.
Bearing in mind that most places will only keep your financail details for approx six or seven years, you might struggle to find it out. You could write to them and ask, but I really wouldn't hold out much hope on this one. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Also, if the bank refuse, you may find you are already timed out by the FOS.
Normally you have to complain to the FOS within 6 years of the event ... or 3 years of reasonably knowing you had grounds for complaint whichever is later.
You seem to be outside both these limits now0
