I had similar problems with Rossendales, after getting a solictor involved they sent the biggest pile of bunkem in letter format, detailing 'charges' and their figures didn't add up at all. Basically I told them I as taking off all the charges that they couldn't prove, plus my legal fees. The balance was £21.09, they got this, and were told if they wanted to argue the toss they could provide all the evideance as I had been asking. Surprisinly I haven't heard a dicky bird.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

Wahooo - fantastic bit of exciting news - have received a copy of what they say they levied on the 7/02/07 - a car that was in our garden - a white BMW that did not even belong to us and we sent to the scrap yard on the 29/01/07!!!!!! Have all the paper work - bring it on - this will be very very interesting!!

Would suggest that you write to the Council tax department and CC your local councillors and tell them what had happened. I know that

    1. On one occasion, bailiffs put documents through my door that was addressed to another person at another address.

    2. When I sent the basic minimum debt through, minus charges, they dissappeared.

    Best of luck
