Jsa work experience mandatory?

Maybe get a job to prevent having to do this? Do you have any work experience, as if not any you can get will be valuable, whether paid or not.0

Dont write it off because of bad press or a 'can't be bothered. attitude (not saying you have but many do).
I have experience, I got that figure from doing £56.25 divide by 30 equals £1.87 per hour, the only person who will really benefit here is the employer, why do employers need to advertise jobs when they can get people in and do the work for FREE.
This is exploiting people.0 -

I have no idea how this is legal and it makes a complete mockery of the minimum wage.
I totally agree with you it is exploiting people.
They should give them an hourly minimum wage rate which is £6.19 you know to get a proper feeling of work.0 -

Well for 30 hours a week a person should be earning at least enough to pay the bills. What the country needs is wages that people can afford to actually live on, without benefit top-ups and that make going to work ALWAYS a better option than living off benefits.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

What I do not understand is were do they get 30 hours from? Why can they not just say do 9 hours for your JSA? 9x £6.19 equals £55.71.0 -

You are aware that work experience is not a paid position, rather it is an opportunity to either learn new skills or get contacts within an industry and maybe prove yourself to an employer that has vacancies. It may be from 1 week up to possibly (rare cases) 8 weeks and for JCP to send you onto it must include at least an interview if not a live vacany position.0
