Sports Direct - Refund rights after an exchange

Hi,

Wondering if some one can determine if I have a right to a refund and whether Sd are trying to pull a fast one.

Wife bought me some trainers from SD online. For some reason she bought size 7 instead of 9. Once she realised her mistake, she trotted off to the local SD store and did an exchange in store for the right size.

On recieving them, we decided they werent my thing so decided to return for a refund. Store said that we have to return them by post as they were purchased online.

Did that and they sent the trainers back to us saying that as we exchanged them in store, the purchase was no longer considered an online purchase but a store purchase. As a result, all we can do is return them in store for an exchange or credit note.

What are my rights here? As the original purchase was online, surely they should have refunded me.

Any thoughts???

Thanks in advance.

I can see their point, you did return the original shoes, so your right to return them is complete. Instead of a refund you choose to take a different pair in store so your rights are now with a store purchase.

Why didnt you find out that they were not for you before you got the bigger size.

In actual fact, the store, right at the beginning could have just as easily said 'send them back to the place you bought them from'

As the above poster says, your contract is now with the store, there is nothing wrong with the goods, so they could in fact just tell you to sling your hook. I would take the credit note in good grace. They are in fact doing you a favour.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
