because the comapany supplying the packers make various widths the most common are 24/28 and 32mm but what generally happens is frames need a bridge packer due to the upstand in the rebate which stops water crossing and these are often not used and also lets say the unit is 28mm the gap in rebate including the gasket is usually 5mm or more and biggest packer is 32mm .what the fitters should do as well is turn the packer diagonally in rebate if that makes senceif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0

Yes it does make sense, I used to stick double sided tape on the packers just to ensure they "worked".
Methinks most window fitters simply use a standard size, the units aren't going to fail next day are they?, so by which time......................long goneI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Im in the trade at a management level. You really do get what you pay for in most cases. I've worked for some firms that want to undercut everyone else but end up supplying you a poor quality product. Others, particularly branded and national firms you get a better window for your money,0

So are you saying it's the frame that's at fault rather than the glass suppliers work or the installer's?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
