Not sure if this is the right board for this. I am thinking of signing up for their 30 day free trial. Has anyone else done this? Is it quick and easy to cancel it without any problems from them? Just want to check before I look into it all.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

IME, it's a nightmare to cancel within the time period and they'll have you on a continuous payment authority so will keep taking money every month.. Also they don't give you the information you want within the 'free period'. My OH fell for this - it was a nightmare to cancel.
Realistically how often do you need to check your credit report? Once in a while is sufficient so what's the point in signing up for a continuing service?
Honestly, just pay the £2 to see a copy of your report and don't bother with joining."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I have a totally different experience to the one above!
I joined on the 30day trial and a few days after i phoned to cancel. The man on the phone tried to get me to stay by outlining the benefits. He asked me why i joined and why i didnt want to continue. I told him i didnt feel i needed the service and he thanked me, told me i have cancelled and we hung up.
A few days before the 30 days were up they emailed to confirm it was ending and thats it. I do get the odd email now and again trying to get me to rejoin haha!:coffee:0 -
Same experience as Glitter03! Easy peasy, no problem at all with cancelling. I think I actually cancelled the day after, got the call asking me why, no pressure at all.0

I found it nothing but hard work. I tried to sign up online and they took my card details and then told me that they couldn't process me online as they needed more information and I had to phone up. Was on for over half an hour while they asked me a million questions about credit agreements from years ago and then sounded really annoyed when I couldn't remember exact dates and amounts. Took forever and then had to ring them again to cancel as wouldn't 'process' online and got them again going on for ages about the 'benefits' - wish I'd just done the £2 one. That's definately what I'll do in the future!0

It's a money making data handler affiliated with lots of sub-prime lenders. I'd steer well clear of them and stick to the £2 old fashioned way.0

We must have been lucky, my OH had no problem cancelling. A two minute phonecall, an email then plus another to confirm just as the month came to its end.0

I had all sorts of problems cancelling, when I rang them I spoke to someone who's first language clearly wasn't English. He couldn't understand what I was trying to tell him and just kept reading through what I presume were screen prompts. In the end I hung up. Rang back and got someone else who neither myself or the person I got on the phone could understand. On the 3rd attempt I managed to persevere and eventually got it cancelled.0

I joined their 30 day trial. Used it for a few days and found all the info I needed. Phoned them up and got through to a pleasant guy who cancelled my membership for me really quickly. He did ask why I wanted to cancel and I just said I had got all I needed from the site and didn't need to use it any further. He asked me if I thought the monthly fee was too high and I told him I thought it was, seeing as you can find pretty much the same advice elsewhere and get your credit score for £2 as others have advised on here. He was polite and not pushy.
The next day I recieved an email confiriming my cancellation and I recieved another the day before my 30 day trial was up confirming my cancellation again. No hassles and no problems. If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants ~ Isaac Newton0 -
My experience was hassle-free. Joined, found out what my credit record looked like, then cancelled. I can't remember ringing anyone up - I thought I did it online, but might be mistaken. Easy peasy.
Had a "sorry you're leaving, can we ask you to reconsider" message, and very occasionally get a 'keeping in touch - we're still here if you need us' email, but not intrusive. Very efficient and professional.

Hi, I'd recommend that you use Noddle instead of Experien.
The service is completely free, they only ask for you card details to help verify your identity, and it is updated every month free of charge.
I've used Experien in the past and although it's no problem to cancel and slightly more detailed, if you just want a snapshot of your credit history then Noddle is more than sufficient.0
