  • I'd assume it's not against any laws. They've told you it's not monitored, it's set up from info you have previously given them, and it is most likely set to either auto delete anything that comes in if someone does reply, or bounce any incoming mail.

It's just an auto-responder, chances are there isn't even a mailbox attached to the address.

I agree, it is quite annoying to receive these messages which are mostly spam. Asking to unsubscribe is a waste of time and I add the address to my blocked senders list.

it is in control as soon as you send them something its deleted, or the address just doesn't exist and gets bounced back.

Its been a while since I looked at the act but back then it wasn't worth the paper it was written on, I doubt much has changed

'No reply' email addresses are a scourge in my view. Even from reputable companies, they are essentially saying 'we are telling you what we believe to be important, we have no interest in you reply'. It really annoys me. Could you imagine your bank writing to you and saying 'don't reply to this letter because we won't read it'. Perhaps I'm over analysing it!
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

If you are getting loads from a particular company then find the email address of the CEO and other members of their board and redirect to them.
