Wording for statutory declaration of being single

Can anyone help me with wording of a statutory declaration? I need to send it to student finance to prove I am seperated from my sons father and living seperately? We were never married.
I would rather not pay £100 for a solicitor to write me a few lines if I can do it myself!
Thanks guys!

My friends have used a council tax bill showing the single persons discount as evidence in lieu of a solicitors letter. I really don't think they will accept a statement from yourself.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I'm pretty sure it has to be signed in the presence of a solicitor. Site here says it should cost £5-10:

Yeah they will accept it Amiehall, its what they have asked for.
I know its got to be signed in presence of a solicitor, thats what a statutory declaration is. To get about 4 lines written by a solicitor is about £100 though and seen as this is a money saving advice forum I thought I would try and save some money and draft it myself, seen as its not imperitive its written by a solicitor, just that its witnessed/signed by one. I cant give them a single persons council tax bill as I am back living with my parents and I am not on the bill.
Thanks anyway!0 -
Oh I seeeeee you're still seeing the solicitor, I misunderstood, that should be fine then. Hopefully someone else can suggest a sensible thing for you to write.Sealed Pot Challenge #239
