Turf v. Artificial grass

We've just had a pond filled in, and now we're looking to have a grassy area of the garden. The area that needs doing (after lifting concrete paving flags and including where the pond was) is approximately 20 sqm.
I'm not a very good gardener, and was wondering about artificial grass. I know you can get some decent replica grass nowadays, but am confused as to how good a finish and hardwaring it is, and whether good old grass seed or turf might be the answer.
The area also isn't square - more of a rounded triangle, if such a thing exists! :rotfl:
Any advice? Thanks!
