carers allowance backdating

nieghbour has been on AA for a few years her daughter is only
now claiming CA she passes all the requirements.

I know it can be back dated upto 3 months, but is this from the
date she claimed CA (last friday) or the date the officals get round to passing the claim(sometime in the next 8 weeks)?

It should be from the date DWP received her application form. There doesn't need to be a reason for backdating but there is a question on the form about Backdating so provided she filled this in correctly it should be backdated 3 months from the date DWP received her application
