Problem with Avios and Eurostar

Hello everyone,
I'm having a bit of a problem. I saw that when you get the BMI credit card and spend £300 in 3 months you get 20k worth of airmiles as a bonus. I've done this and received my airmiles.
I then exchanged them to Avios as I knew they would be changing soon anyway.
When I saw the MSE article it said I could use the Avios to get return tickets on the Eurostar.
I've just contacted BA Dimaond club (who hold the Avios points) and they've told me I cannot book Eurostar tickets through them...
I'm confused! How do I get my Eurostar tickets using my Avios points?
Please help! it would be much appreciated.

You need to book eurostar via avios.com - you'll need to transfer your avios from BA.com to Avois.com which is simple and immediate.
    Legal team on standby
  • Avios confusingly are currently held by multiple parts of the same group of companies the BA Executive Club and Avios themselves maintain separate places to hold them and different offers on how to spend them (and I assume Iberian is separate again).

As has been said, and verified by the second question on http://avios.faq-help.com/ you can freely move the points between the different "pots" but cannot ask any of the separate parts to hoover up points from the different areas
  • Worth noting that using Avios for Eurostar tickets tends to be poor value. I would call and get a quote before transferring your miles.

Have a look at HeadforPoints blog. It has useful info on how to use Avios

Yes, prices for Eurostar return tickets in standard class are quoted as 'from' 9,000 Avios but can be much more.

They depend on cash prices for Eurostar tickets on the days you want to travel. Check the Eurostar website to see which trains offer £69 returns and you'll have an idea of possible Avios availability at lower rates.

Book as long in advance as you can for best availability (up to 12 weeks, I think).
