Working tax credits for self employed

How does that work, for example I may try a self employed role which I did before and it's so variable as to whether you get any work, I could earn 200 a month for example one month, so how would WTC work here and also is there any HB available is this situation. So obviously I would be on a variable low income still regarding as full time though.

I'm 35, as for hours well it just depends, could be 2 - 15 hours per week at £15 p/hour + travel costs. So anywhere from £30-£225 per week. ridiculous I know but would WTC give you a variable rate or how does it work?

You wouldn't qualify for WTC based on those hours.

    Are you single?
    Do you have any children?
    Do you have any disabilities?

You can only claim WTC if you work for at least 30 hours per week.
  • I work 24 hours a week but I run my own business as wel so that would take me over the hours and I am 35 so am I able to claim?
I will pay off my overdraft in 2013!!!!
  • Go for it. Its a really good scam. Just tell them you work 30 hours per week on your self employment. You know chasing up leads, marketing, visiting suppliers..........................etc. etc.

Predict that your earnings from the self employment are pretty much nil and you will be rolling in free cash.

Isn't Wtc due to be done away with because so many are playing the system.
Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

There are loads of people playing the system, but that's not the reason for doing away with it.
