GE Money

I have completed a consumer questionnaire and have just rang GE Money for an address, they have informed me that the PPI was sold to us by 'Independent Finance Corporation' I have searched and it seems this company does no longer exist.

Do I continue to attempt my claim from GE money as it is them who I have paid the PPI to or will they continue to fob me off??

(I have various documentation from Debtbuster Loans, Central Capital, First National and GE Money, all related to the same loan.)

You complain to whoever sold it to you to begin with, or to the company that bought them out and took liability for any ongoing loan.
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi
  • GE Money states that it was Independent Finance Corporation who sold the PPI but I do have an insurance policy certificate from First National (who I believe is now GE Money) which is underwritten by Pinnacle Insurance.... this is so confusing :(

    It isn't.
It doesn't matter who underwrote the policy, all they do is provide the insurance should it be needed.
It matters who sold it to you because they are the ones you complain to that it was mis-sold.
Who sold the actual loan to you?

  • I have done some further digging.... I have a letter regarding the cost of insurance with 'Central Capital' letterhead, quoting First National as the lender, aparently Central Capital is or used to be Independent Finance Corporation, so therefore do I send my letter of complaint to Central Capital? Would it be worth also sending a copy to GE Money to save time if they both decide to fob me off to the other?
I originally applied through debtbuster loans, they are all apparently the same people according to my google searches!

As these are the people who SOLD you the loan, these are the people to whom you can complain of a mis-sale.
Everyone else, while connected, are irrelevant to your complaint.
  • I have eventually found a number that works for central capital who agree that it was them who sold the ppi, they have taken details and will send a reply in writing in 7-10 days....
    Fingers crossed
