Spaying stray cats
Impromptu
Greetings all,
My neighbour and I are owned by a lovely little stray cat who can't get away from crazycatladies toms.
Whilst I don't mind buying food and wormer for her, I'm getting a little tired of taking her kittens in and rehoming them.
I also don't think it's healthy for her to keep having litter after litter.
As the chat I had with her about her loose morals didn't work, are there any charity's who do subsidised/ free spaying?
I have a menagerie of my own so don't really have the cash to spend on a stray.

The chats usually dont work.:rotfl:
Health wise it isnt good, and where do the kittens go?
It depends where you are, but most places have a neutering charity. I would google and see what you find. I imagine most Cats Protection would help, also Celia Hammond London way.
If you could put your location here I'm sure others can help.
Is she likely to needto stay feral, or do you think she is friendly enough to re-home to someone?NOT a NEWBIE!

Are you close to any Blue Cross clinics?
I had my cat neutered at one a few years ago and they just asked for a small donation for it.0 -
Thanks.
I'm in Doncaster. I bring the kittens into my house ( the ones I can catch!), treat them for fleas and worms, and start to socialise them. They then go to friends or their friends but I'm running out of people to give them to!
Momma cat is very friendly, OH and I tried to adopt her but she just doesn't like being inside. She'll relent and come in the house when the weather is really bad but she always leaves after half an hour.0 -
The RSPCA should spay and neuter for free or try another charity as less kittens being born helps their work in the long run.:)0

The larger charities tend to means test, which I don't agree with. Because she is a stray might be prepared to pick up all of the cost though, and not means test. Unfortunately you are a huge distance from our local scheme where you could just ring the vets and bool her in.
Try catchat, they have a page listing neutering help.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0 -

yes, Cat's Protection definitely does but I only know of the income based subsidies. It's definitely worth talking to them about what they can offer for a stray though!
Love the 'loose morals' chat! I imagine her hitching up her kitty skirt an tottering out the room in her kitty stilettos looking for the next baby daddyHouse saving Targets:

Thanks, it looks like we're taking a day trip- the closest I can find so far is 40 miles away!
I tried the RSPCA, they were useless as per. The woman I spoke to couldn't offer any suggestions but more worrying still, she couldn't understand why I wanted to spay a cat I didn't own :eek:0 -
the cats protection neutered a stray i found. They are very good. He is still a stray as my cats won't let him in so and i couldn't really afford the upkeep of another cat anyway. At least he is not fighting now and i still feed him,0

My mum actually tried "shaming" our little female cat when she found out she had mated with a rather odd looking local cat, our cat looked at my mum, let out a silent but deadly and left the room :rotfl:0
