Natwest app: cardless withdraws from cash machines

Natwest have released an updated Android app today. The feature that allows customers to withdraw cash from cash machines without their card has been re-enabled.
Unfortunately or, perhaps, fortunately given the problems with it previously, it defaults to using my First Reserve account which is empty. IIRC it does that because I used the card for that account to initialise the app.

Have you tried clearing this app's data?
Yes, I'm aware of that.
I have the app on my Android tablet and phone. On my tablet it defaults to my First Reserve account; I've updated it on my phone now and that defaults to my Current Account.
As I said, the card used to initialised the app determines which account cardless withdraws can be made from. It worked the same before it was withdrawn.0 -
On reading this, I had a look in my iPhone app, and it has defaulted to my savings account, saying I can't use the feature on that account as there is no card associated with it. I can't have initialised the app with that account as, well, there's no card associated with it! I know for a fact that I did it with my current account, and I've already reinitialised the app more than once. Any other way to change this?0

I think you need to de-register for the service, then re-register from scratch.
EDIT
Just looked at the help pages. you need to delete the app then select update details when you re-register. This will allow you to nominate a different debit card.0 -
Is it known what they have changed in the process? Given all the security issues last time they had this feature?
Have they actually made it more robust now?0 -
I doubt they'd tell you what has been changed for obvious security reasons. They obviously feel it's safer. After all, they end up recompensing any fraud victims.0
