in Credit cards
Ok, so my situation is this, my financial state is a giant mess (see signature) that happened a few years ago and I've been in a debt cycle since until I sorted my DMP. Trust me on this I've learnt my lesson a lot!
My issue is I travel a lot with work on expenses sometimes running up bills in excess of 2 month's wages, my employer is very quick at paying back expenses, usually within a working week of the claim. Obviously with my awful credit rating this means no credit card so paying it all upfront (hoping I have enough) then hoping the expenses get in before the bills come a knocking.
The last couple of trips I have made I have borrowed a credit card from a relative and it is instantly payed back when I get my expenses to save upfront costs. The relative suggested that maybe they could add me as an additional card holder so the card is in my name. So my question is, will my catastrophic credit rating prevent me being able to be an additional card holder on an account?
While I realise my relative is taking what on paper looks to be a massive risk I never don't pay back relatives and every trip so far has run smoothly with the expenses money not even spending an hour in my account before it is payed back.

You will be fine being an additional card holder. They don't credit check you.0

Whilst I understand the reasons, using someone elses credit card is a bad idea - it's possibly even fraud, since you're pretending to be the card holder, even if it's with permission. (Unless they are calling eg a hotel and paying for you)
Your relative is obviously very trusting of you, and it sounds like you're very diligent, but in my opinion, it's unfair to ask them to do it as a long term solution. Have you discussed with your company? There must be a better way, like maybe a pre-paid card which your company can load up for you.0 -

I have asked and the company wont help. The most they can do is advance me one month's wage which is no good if my expenses go past that. I know it's not ideal but I really don't have other options at the moment. The using someone else's card thing is the reason why being an additional card holder was raised.0 -
