I entered a priority code and got one of the boxes that they were giving away over the weekend.

Received the following email...

Congratulations, your Box of Awesome has been secured and will be shipped to your address shortly. Depending on where you live, this may take a few days but please be assured that it will get to you!

Now they have sent an email saying I won't be getting one. Definitely a scam.

Congratulations-you've just been accepted onto the Awesome List! You're now officially in the queue for BOA #1. Supplies are limited but because you've managed to grab a special code, yours is guaranteed. Well played
You'll get an update as soon as we start physically shipping BOA #1 (it will be in the next couple of weeks) but for other info (like what might actually be in the box), you should hang out at our FB page. There'll probably be a few other surprises revealed there too.
Btw, we'd really love if you could tell your friends about Box of Awesome. The more people who know, the more boxes we can ship and the EVEN cooler stuff we can cram in there. All shouts and shares appreciated!

This is a good news/bad news mail from your friends at Box of Awesome. First, the bad news: unfortunately you didn’t get a box this time. We’re really sorry about this but the demand from the community was HUGE.

BUT! Here’s the good news:

2. You’re at the very top of the Awesome List for BOA #2. Which means that after subscribers, you’ll be next in line to get your box. Keep watching our FB page and your inbox for updates on when this will be (sooner than you think). Got the same email (and yes I was guaranteed too). The digital box thing was just a pc game download.

Apparently I'm top of the list for the second round of boxes though. AND I'm getting a special item.

Wait a minute........how can we both be top of the list? :D

Exactly the same experience here, first I'm definitely getting one, then I'm not. I have a feeling I'd only get one if I paid!

Agreed with all.

From being guaranteed a box, we all get told we won't be getting one.

It was all about the hype. I will not be surprised if everyone gets a large box with the word awesome inside.

There you are your 'box of 'awesome'.

Secondly, we have now ALL been told we are on top of BOA#2 list. All of us? Surely? Are you kidding me? We will then be told there was a lot of demand. None of us will be getting BOA#2. Wait for BOA#3.

So on it goes.

Bit of a cop out/shambles.

If i get one, fair enough. If not then its fine, luckilly i didn't get my hopes up but unfair for those parents who told their children who got excited to be disappointed when they do not get one.

Hype over for BOA. I think they kind of caused their own negative publicity.

I grabbed one over the weekend by refreshing the page every couple of minutes, it said it would be shipped soon and I haven't heard anything else so fingers crossed

Did the people who are saying that they are not getting a box actually get the email with the link to claim their box?

I only had to refresh about three times before there were boxes to claim:)

Yep, even had an email saying it was being sent out as they sent the email. Wouldn't get your hopes up anyone. Most probably only people getting boxes are those who pay.

I got the same email saying I'd not be getting a box. This has all been quite a disappointment for me. I didn't know what was going on most of the time and what I was supposed to be doing. I don't think they knew what they were doing either.

Number 1 rule of promotion (and life!): don't make promises you can't keep. They should never have said anything was guaranteed in that first email, and unfortunately it looks like they've failed to learn from any of this as they're now saying we're all top of the list for the next one.
