ford focus replacement key?
Options
hi, hopefully someone can help me. Im looking to get another remote key for my focus as it came with 1 remote key and 1 none remote key. This is fine as it starts the car but does not de activate the alarm. Iv'e heard it is easy to program the key as i already have 2 others. The problem is i havent a clue which key i need to buy. Im completely baffled looking at ebay with all the different codes and part numbers
I've had it open today as im going to change the battery and wanted to see what it takes but couldnt see anything on it that would tell me which i need.
the key i have now looks like this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-3-BUTTON-REMOTE-KEY-CONNECT-C-MAX-FIESTA-FOCUS-FUSION-GALAXY-MONDEO-S-MAX-/121058234605?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item1c2fa210ed
but there are a few that look the same with differnt numbers. Also do i have to buy a key like this or can i swap to one of the flippy keys as long as it has the flat blade still.

Is it a top secret focus made in 2027?
Are you sure its the flat key and not the round tibbe key? Focus 2005 - 2010
I have a jaguar flip key on my Mondeo.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
yes, its definately the flat key. My last 3 ford cars have had the round tibbe key, but this one has the flat blade. It is a 2007 focus zetec on a 56 plate.
So would this one be suitable? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-3-BUTTON-REMOTE-KEY-CONNECT-C-MAX-FIESTA-FOCUS-FUSION-GALAXY-MONDEO-S-MAX-/121056679693?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item1c2f8a570d
i know i will need to go get it cut as i dont have the key number0 -
My local locksmith in the Market has been there longer than i have been around and charges £2 - £4 for keycutting.
There are guides on the net for reading the code off the key. Does it not have a little metal tag on one of the keyrings with a number on it?
As long as your keys are unique ones and not a cloned key you can program the new one into the immobiliser and remote locking yourself. Its in your manual dont buy guides or secrets on howto do it.
And dont pay someone...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
