Great news I've just purchased my car.
I want to get it insured tomorrow however im a bit unsure about the question the insurers ask about 'car modifications'
The car (Ford Ka 2001 collection) has had a new CD player and wheel trims put in by the look of it. Do i need to mention this when geting a quote for insurance? if so how much is it likely to push the quote up by?
Thanks

Any modifications should be declared. My guess is you wouldn't be penalised for the stereo, but the alloys will push the premium up a bit.
Be careful, some insurers won't tolerate any mods at all. Others will only accept them, if they don't increase power or performance.0 -
If the alloys are part of the standard spec of the car, then you dont need to declare them. If they were fitted afterwards and especially if they are custom alloys (not made by Ford), then you should declare them.If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0
