Savings on Contribution based ESA

If you are on contribution based ESA rather than income, do the savings rules apply. For example could you have in excess of £6000 in savings?

TIA

The savings do not affect contributary ESA. However, don't forget that ESa will be means tested after 365 days in the WRAG (including the assessment period if this was followed immediately by time in the WRAG).
