The Bankruptcy Board

I do occassionally pop in here to see how my former DFW friends are doing.
You guys have, in fact, changed my opinion on bankruptcy, to seeing it as a neccessary support mechanism. A good result?
Having read some of the vitriolic posts on recent threads, I feel there is a very clear 'get off our board' message going on.
I am not sure this works to the long term goal of making BR a (rightly) acceptable route, in the right circumstances. How can you change views when you work to exclude?
I'm also dissappointed in posts from people I usually regard as quite sensible and tolerant.
And the stress levels tit-for-tat induce may not be helpful to people in already delicate positions.
If there is a clear 'no non-BRs welcome' policy, perhaps you should have that posted as a sticky?
Just a thought. I'll slink off now...

Hi Em, Nice to see you for the 1st time here.
I agree with you in some terms, I think we do get somewhat offended by certain posts. People must not forget that to even be clicking on the B board there must be a B reason?? Its so so so so so hard to make the decicion and despearation and depression is more prominant here than it is anywhere else.
I myself have considered suicide, runnng away, ignoring my life... all for the sake of debt. yet someone will happily post me down that ive spent £10 too much on my gas. People should appriciate that this is a B board not DFW, Saving money or get out of my mortgage in 4 days... its a B baord.
Thanks for this Em... It should and I hope finally settle the them and us.

Oh lord, I am so not getting into another one of these tonight. I've had such a fill already that I've got stomach ache.

I've always felt I've been made really welcome here!
But seriously I hope and believe it's the minority because the 2 boards do go closely hand in hand and it's important people are made to feel welcome in both. :undecided0 -

Without wanting to wind up Bakeybadoo any more(really not my intention), have you thought about asking for a seperate board instead of a sub-board?
DFW does tend to have a set style of response, which is clearly not appropriate for the BB. But both have posters asking for comments on SOAs, but for very different purposes.
If it eliminated even some of the cross-purpose postings, would that help?Debt free 4th April 2007.

In some ways I would agree but surely it is the case that on ANY board on this website one is supposed to be constructive and nonjudgemental? Isn't it also always the case that there is little point giving specific advice until further details have been established?
Which is my stupidly wordy way of saying...
Agree with idea of own board.
Disagree with reasoning.
Reason for disagreeing - Set style of reply is irrelevant. Everyone on every board should be polite and nonjudgemental.
Have own reasons for wanting to be seperated.
I'm not BR yet and feel welcome BTW.0 -

Mike you always seemed quick to help people on DFW and I imagine the same is true on this board.
But explain to me how a lynch mob attacking albetross and black saturn has helped the OP. They were simply trying to offer advice and they get personally attacked. I know me and this board haven't seen eye to eye but that is not acceptable.
Yes by all means point out that they are requiring different advice to cutting back but to start flaming them, insulting them and accusing them of trolling?
It seems to be the select few that is always causing anamosity between the boards and I can't for the life of me work out why? Is it resentement, jealousy?
I don't see the need for it. I advised someone today to come over to here to seek some advice on bankruptcy but I'm wishing I hadn't. The bullying on this board is frankly disgraceful. How would each and everyone of you felt if that was your first introduction to this site? Would you have come back? Where would you be now Mike? You've said yourself you were at your lowest point. Do you not feel any guilt for potentially putting other people off from getting the help the so desperately needed, just like you.
But yeah, you dismiss it as stirring. God forbid anyone on this board could ever be wrong. :rolleyes:0
