its being broken up, re-badged, a bit of a shake up in general.

the funding for Community Care Grants & most, but not all of Crisis Loans are to go to Local Authorities to provide their own scheme / new provision / pocket the money.

Budgeting Loans will be staying with the DWP with slight re-branding as far as im aware, although the changes are really for Universal Credit.

Crisis Loans for 'Alignments' - ie to cover when someone has made a new claim to benefit or a change in circumstances, are to go & replaced by Short Term Advances - STAs - and stay with DWP.

The non-discretionary funds, Funeral Payments, Maternity Grants & Cold Weather Payments are staying within DWP also.

Existing repayments and recovery, as far as im aware will stay in place, however details on this, along with details of STAs were sketchy at the last presentation i was at with the DWP hierarchy, which was back in November.
