Carers Allowance?

Hi all,
Hope anyone can help even guide me where to start.
I go back to work after maternity leave in April.
My husband works part time but will have to leave work or reduce hours in April.
Basically my 13 week old son has to be cared for currently by one of us and no one else. He has random fits, also tube fed for an unknown period of time. For which we need training and therefore anyone who cares for him would need to undertake training.
Would my husband be entitled to any amount of carers allowance to help us survive? Or any other sort of help?.
Thanks

your baby would need to be receiving either middle or high rate disability living allowance for anyone to be able to claim carers allowance.
also, to claim carers allowance, your husband would need to be earning less than £100 a week.
good luck with your baby0 -
May I recommend this organisation :

You can apply for Disability Living Allowance for your baby. It is only the care component of this that applies (not the mobility part)
This can be awarded for babies from 3 months old who need more care than a comparatively aged baby.
If your baby is awarded DLA then your OH can apply for Carer's Allowance (need to be awarded middle to higher rate of care of the DLA).
The criteria for Carer's Allowance is to be caring for 35 hrs a week, plus the 'cared for' needs to be on middle or higher rate DLA and carer does not earn more than £100 a week.
Claiming DLA is not easy so I suggest you get some help from Bliss or CAB or similar to complete the forms.
Are you claiming any other benefits at the moment?
I will find the link for the benefit calculator so that you can input different scenarios to check your entitlement.
