Worming - Not for the faint hearted!

My 9-mth old puppy frequently seems to get terrible worms. Up until he was 6mths he was wormed monthly and from 6mths+ he's been wormed 3-mthly with Milbemax. In between doses he's given Dorwest Garlic tablets. The last dose of Milbemax was given last weekend and there are still worms being expelled. Does anyone know how long it takes to clear them out and how I can check whether they're gone? (FYI my other 2 dogs are all wormed at the same time and don't appear to have any worms).
Thanks (and sorry if you're still eating your breakfast!).

Where are you buying this product from? Personally I would be giving your vet a call and discussing with them. It could be the pup needs to go on something different or have some bloods taken to see if there is an underlying issue here!
Good luckAnt. :cool:0 -
Buying milbemax from the vet. We're booked in next week, so will ask then.Nice to save.0

does he scavange alot? or have a habit of eating faeces? that would make him more likely to keep picking up worms. There are a whole range of wormers available so it might be worth asking your vet for something different
Also, I'm sure you're aware but please be careful when giving garlic tablets it is toxic to dogs if given too much or too frequently and causes haemolytic anaemia.0 -
I wouldn't say he was a scavenger and I haven't noticed him eating his poo. He does however dig in the garden a great deal and enjoys eating mud, so am guessing this may be part of the problem if eggs are lurking in the soil.
Re the garlic tablets, I only ever use Dorwest's garlic tablets as they are specifically produced for cats & dogs. But thanks for your concern though.Nice to save.0
