Cheapest Way To Get To France/Belgium?

Hi

Thinking of going to France or Belgium for the day by car in the half-term with OH & DD. Whats the cheapest way to get there...ferry or train?

Thanks

Oh, mine's only naughty ... but when I read "cheapest way to get to France or Beligium" I thought .... swim????

If you've got Company Car and they pay petrol then ferry definitely - we did it from Dover fairly regularly on a duty free binge trips to euro central - look out for vouchers in the red newspapers, they do these special offer things where you can go for a £1 that kind of thing. Don't know about the train, I never quite fancied being underground for that long .....

A couple of Easters ago, BF and I went on the Eurotunnel. Hadn't been before so wasn't sure what it would be like but it was fine. You don't even know you're underground, and you get to France so quickly. You can get out of your car and walk around.

PP, I don't know if you collect Clubcard vouchers but if you've got some, you can use Deals on Eurotunnel: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=148&bci=4294967191|Travel

Also, you mentioned Belgium. When we went to France for the day, we drove to Belgium for a couple of hours as we were close to the border. Didn't do a great deal since time was limited, but we still went!

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Hi

Thanks for the replies. managed to book through P&O for £22 return including a bottle of wine. We live quite close to Dover so travelling not a problem.

I'm a little confused.... How does this affect whether the ferry or train is the cheapest way to take your car to France?
    Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j
Mortgages make money. Definitely don't wanabee mortgage free!
